It takes a life time to create a life style.
Your life time may be 20 or 30 years, or you may be over half a century old, either way, in your life time you’ve created your life style. Your life style today is probably very different than it was ten years ago and it’ll also be very different ten years from now. That’s part of what makes our lives so very interesting. Choices.
I had an interesting encounter with an elderly ‘man on the street’ (homeless). He wasn’t very happy, even after I gave him all the change I had at the time. He commented that I could give him $200 and it wouldn’t affect my life style. I, of course, was taken aback by that. I had to think about it.
He was right, a one time gift of $200 to a stranger would not really change my life style. I’d still be able to pay my bills. And I doubt that a one time gift of $200 would change his life style either! Oh sure, he might be better off for a few days, but then he would continue with his well established life style. This is one of the reasons why so many lottery winners are financially struggling again within years of winning the big bucks. They don’t change the choices that got them there in the first place.
A life style isn’t created overnight, nor will it change just that fast. A life style is a series of choices made day after day, always moving you forward to the next choice.
So today I’m thinking, what choices am I making and what life style am I creating? How about you? Where do you see your life style one, two or ten years from Now?
At the end of my grand and glorious life, there’s one thing I hope people will be able to say about me. I hope people will say, Well, she was usually happy. If that happens, then I’ve been successful.
Enjoy always, T
