No more BIG FAT HOLIDAY BUTS

December was a slow writing month for me.

It was full of great Big Fat Holiday Buts. .. Such as…

I was going to work on editing my third novel, Away Over Yonder, BUT I had to put up the Christmas tree and then I had way too much Christmas shopping to do.

I was going to find the perfect cover photo for my book, Away Over Yonder, BUT I got side tracked looking at all the pretty Christmas decorations and doing on-line shopping.

I was going to keep writing on my current WIP, BUT I had more Christmas packages to wrap.

I was going to write another blog post, BUT I had to attend another holiday party.

Well, I think you get the idea. I’ve been sitting on a whole lot of BIG FAT HOLIDAY BUTS.

However, since the end of the Christmas season is finally upon us, I’ve started writing on my WIP again and have written over 5k words.  I’m also scheduled to go over my edits early next week and – well – I’ve written this blog post. At least it’s a start.

So – Happy New Year and Cheers to 2013.

I’m very close to being done with the 2012 holiday season. I just have one more holiday related party and then I will take down my tree. Hopefully, I’ll soon be back to some semblance of a normal writing life. (Normal writing life? Does that even make sense?)

Keep smiling and Enjoy Always, T

  1. Excellent post. Very enjoyable. Writing and blogging is something that I enjoy very much.

Great blog you have here. I’ll be sure to let others know about it for sure.

    Have a great day.

  2. Thank you kind blogger for your words of encouragement. Enjoy always, T

  3. Sounds reasonable to me. Those buts are better than the other big holiday butt.

    • Thankfully I have managed to nearly avoid the other kind of big fat holiday but…. however, it’s still time to cut back on the holiday sweets and indulgance. Cheers to 2013.

  4. It sounds like you enjoyed the Christmas holidays Tricia. Christmas is such a huge distraction from the regular routine, no matter how much we tell ourselves we’re still going to accomplish something –well that’s where the Big Fat Holiday Buts come in! HA! :D (And I really admire your ability to write and edit three novels! That’s so amazing!!!)

    • Oh I do, I do enjoy the holidays. So very merry and bright. But already all the decorations are coming down. Still a few left in the city, but my office has started to return to non-holiday mode. Thanks for your ongoing support this past year and I wish you all the best in 2013. Cheers and keep the fun flowing……

      • There is something kind of sad when everything returns to non-holiday mode. That’s probably why New Years was stuck in there — to keep our minds off it! HA! And I promise to do my best to keep it fun! :D

  5. Very cute title and loved the post. It is nice to get things back to normal after the holidays… ;)

  6. I laughed at the buts… I am wishing you a blessed 2013.
