In Search of a Good Book.

I think we can all agree that the internet has changed the way we shop. No longer are we required to hop in our cars and cruise down to the local mall for the perfect shop for the perfect birthday or holiday gift, clothing item, household gadget, or good book. Now we only have to hop onto the internet and find any thing we want, and a whole lot we don’t. It’s all there for the on-line surfing.

I can still remember when hardly anyone shopped on-line. It was too new and not to be trusted. Now, with a few click-clicks here and a few click-clicks there and the release of some valuable personal financial information, you can have your heart’s desire delivered directly to your front door. I should know, my front door has been very busy lately.

But remember the days when we would go to the library or to our local bookstore to find our next great book to read? Or we’d get a book passed on to us by a trusted friend. Well, that brings me to today’s question. Since I’m an avid reader as well as an author, I’m really interested to hear: How do you find the books you want to read? It is on Goodreads, via Amazon recommendations, the latest and greatest internet sensation, what your friends are reading or have read and had now passed on to you? Where, oh where do you find the next good read? Or even more to the point – - -

What are you reading now and how did it come into your hot little hands?

I’ll begin by sharing my answer. I’m currently reading on my Kindle The Minstrel Boy by Laura Vosika, book two of The Blue Bells of Scotland series. I found it by reading the first book of the series and liking it enough to want to read the second. I found the first book through a recommendation I saw on the internet, but I can’t remember where or when, but it sounded interesting enough to give it a try. I think it may have been on sale on Kindle for .99 cents and that was enough reason to give it a try.

So, if you would be so kind, take a moment and let me know how you find the books you want to read. As a show of thanks, I’ll be giving away free copies of my first book, Return In Time, through a random selection from the comments section. I already appreciate your assistance and participation, so blessings and good wishes to you all.

Hope to hear from you all soon. And  Enjoy Always, T

Creating Romance

I’m very pleased to announce that I’ll be speaking at Unity of Walnut Creek on June 20 at their WOW – Women Of Wonder – gathering.  I’ll be speaking about Creating Romance (see below) and sharing my newly released book, Somewhere to Belong. There will be freebies and I’ll have books to give away.  Another exciting perk of this event is that it’s on the Summer Solstice, which is a prominent  date in my time-travel romance books, Return In Time and Somewhere To Belong.

Creating Romance:  Tricia will present some fun steps that take a new look at romance; what it is and how you can create more romance in your life. Through the use of visualization and story plotting you’ll gain insightful awareness of how to create your romantic life. Come prepared to write a new chapter in your love life and to HAVE FUN.

If you’re in the neighborhood, drop by and say hi. I’d love to see you there.

Enjoy always, T

Full Disclosure.

In the interest of honesty and full disclosure, I will honestly disclose that I started my blog – this blog – because I wrote a book.  And I wanted  a way to promote and advertise said book. You may have seen it around here – Return In Time.

And now I’ve written another book, Somewhere To Belong.  Amazing, I know.

But it turns out I’m not very good at hawking, hustling, pushing, promoting my book(s). It turns out, having a blog is about way more than promoting a book. It’s a whole lot of fun meeting amazing people who have even more amazing things to say. I have to admit, I read other people’s posts way more than I post or comment. It’s my Guilty Addiction.

I would also say, in the interest of full disclosure, that I’m not very good at writing about being an indie-author. I’d rather write about romance, and life and humor, and stuff that interests me. I’m a big fan of humor. I can be serious, if needed, but it’s not my strongest trait. Besides, that’s what day jobs are for.

Since I started blogging I’ve hopped around to a lot of other blogs sites. Often I am amazed at the writing I have found, and often intimidated. Usually by the beauty of their written words. Keep in mind that beauty takes many forms. There’s beauty in sharing, in caring, in spiritual inspiration and humor. The blog sphere is like a treasure chest that’s large and grand and full of sparkly gems. Some are finely cut, highly polished and set with gold, and some are gems still in their natural rough form, but all have their special value.

I am grateful for them all, the ones I visit and the ones who visit me. I know I’m a small fish in a very big pond, but God Bless you all, I’m loving the company. I’m having fun and flowing with the tide.

So, in the interest of full disclosure, let me say; Thanks to you all, just for being here.

Enjoy Always, T

In a Gratitude Attitude.

I just came from a WOW meeting at Unity. WOW stands for Women Of Wonder and we always have great speakers and heartfelt participation from our group. Wednesday’s focus was on abundance and affluence. I was reminded of how helpful it is to be grateful for everything good in my life and how focusing on the good brings more good into my life. It’s that old law of attraction thing.  We attract that which we focus on. So today I’m focusing on a list of things I LEA, Like, Enjoy and Appreciate.

I LEA:  making love, any time of the day when the mood hits * dark chocolate, I hear it’s good for you! * the ocean, I could watch ocean waves for hours * sunshine and warm days, I like it warm, not too hot, not too cold, but just right * reading a good book, usually romance but not always, I do have other interests * laughing, usually at myself, it’s the best kind of fun * The Big Bang Theory, TV show, it always makes me laugh, which is good for anything that ails you * ying and yang, because balance is so important * gazing off into the distance, as if I’m in deep thought but I’m probably just gazing * full moons, half moons, crescent moons, moon light, as you can see, I have a thing for moons * fairies, I do believe in them * trees, I think I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree * roses, or just about any flowers * romantic kisses, God bless romantic kisses * sleeping, I’m a big fan of a good night’s sleep * a wink and a smile, if you have one or the other, pass them on * dragon flies, butter flies, fire flies, you know, lite little things with wings (see fairies) * pink flamingos, I really, really lea pink flamingos * pictures of my kids, can’t get enough of them and they’re so beautiful (just saying) * pictures of my friends and family, always like to see what they’re up to now * needlework, pretty little beads and crazy quilts, it’s so me, the crazy thing I mean * the colors yellow and orange, they’re such happy colors

I know this is a rather long list, but I think, the longer the better. And I always LEA longer and better. :)

I hope you found something to make you smile today. Tell me something you LEA. Something, anything, one thing, or many many more. It’s all good.

Have fun and Enjoy always, T

SEX Testing, 1, 2, 3. . .

Last week I ran a little test on my blog. Totally unofficial, of course, but still a bit of fun.

I put S.E.X. in the title of my blog post. I was wondering if it would increase the number of SEO hits coming my way. You know what ‘they’ always say, Sex Sells.  And I really do like the underlining meaning: Seriously Exciting eXcerpts. I hope you’ll take some time to check it out.

Well, back to the sex test. For what it’s worth, NO, it did not get a rise – on the SEO hits I mean. At least not noticeably. Okay, maybe slightly, and I did have some fun with that, but no big uptick in internet surfers, or cruisers looking for Sex or S.E.X. as the case may really be.

I did pick up a few more hits from random sources, but I didn’t see a perverted elevation in visitors. Maybe it was the periods! After all, SEX is just not the same if you’ve got a period. But it’s ever worse if you miss one!! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)

What pun fun. Enjoy always, T
